Joint Ventures: Teaming up with Other Freelancers
from:Deb St. George, Publisher, GettingToSuccess.com
Joint ventures are formed when two or more parties team up to promote one or more of their products. Both parties share the revenue, although not always equally. The exact terms of the joint venture are worked out between the involved parties. Joint ventures have been around long before the Internet and are popular business ventures today, both online and offline.
Joint Ventures for the Freelance Writer
Of all the online joint ventures brokered, freelance writers have one of the best chances to pair up with a variety of different talents. That's because content is king and writers who can provide quality content, whether that is in the form of articles, ebooks, or a variety of other text, have an excellent opportunity to team up with various forms of talent. For example, freelance writers can team up with graphic designers to produce, ebooks, sales copy, reports, and a variety of other text that sells better with images. Almost every venture needs some kind of written content so freelance writers have a great chance to team up with other freelancers interested in joint ventures.
Freelance writers can also team up with website builders to create quality websites that can either be managed by one partner, both, or then sold for a profit. Software developers may also use freelance writers to write instructions for the programs they create. Photographers and freelance writers also make good teams for a variety of written content illustrated by still photos or video. Internet marketers also need freelance writers to write ad copy, product descriptions, and various other content that will help them sell their products.
Joint Ventures for the Graphic designer
Graphic designers also have great potential to form joint venture partnerships with other freelancers. While some text, such as articles, sells well by itself, other text, such as ebooks and ebook covers need images to make it come alive. You may have seen CDs or DVDs online that were created by freelance product developers. These wouldn't look near as exciting as they do without the creativity the graphic designer adds. Sometimes, this kind of work may be allocated to the graphic designer on a freelance basis but many types of graphic design work is perfect for the joint venture partnership.
Joint Venture Partnerships
There's no limit to the amount of or kind of joint ventures freelancers can participate in. Sometimes, Internet marketers who have a list of subscribers team up with product developers to sell their products. The important thing is that each party bring something of value to the partnership; otherwise there's no need to even team up. That being said, joint venture partnerships are serious business and should be treated as such. You should interview someone at length before you decide to team up with them to form a joint venture partnership. In addition, once you have chosen your joint venture partner, you need a contract, one that spells out all the parameters exactly. Each partner should agree upon how the revenue will be divided, when the partnership will end, and what will happen if there are conflicts. Joint ventures can be a great way for freelancers to boost their profits by teaming up with other freelancers who have something valuable.
